There are 2 ways to install Addons in Lotro
To install LOTRO plugins manually, download the plugin files (usually a .zip) from a site like lotrointerface.com
- Close the game: Ensure that The Lord of the Rings Online is not running before you begin.
- Find the Plugins Folder: Navigate to your documents folder to find the LOTRO installation directory.
- The default location is:
C:\\Users\(Your_Username)\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online
- or for steam installs :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Lord of the Rings Online

Inside the Lord of the Rings Online folder, you may need to create a new folder named Plugins.
- Download the Plugin: Go to lotrointerface.com (or another trusted source) and download the .zip file for the plugin you wish to install.
- Move the Plugin File: Save the downloaded .zip file to your computer, then move it into the Plugins folder you located in Step 2.
- Extract the Plugin: Right-click on the .zip file and select "Extract Here" or a similar option to extract its contents directly into the Plugins folder.
- Launch the Game: Start The Lord of the Rings Online.
- Activate the Plugin: On the character selection screen, click on the Manage Plugins button.
- Enable the Plugin: Find your newly installed plugin in the list and check the box next to it to enable it. You can do this for specific characters or all characters on that server.
