Here are my thoughts on each of the premium neighbourhoods.
They are listed in approximate order of popularity, based on the take-up rate in A Group of Friends and how hard it was for us to secure a kin-exclusive neighbourhood.
- Nicest (IMHO) coastal environment. Interior layout is unconventional compared to IRL houses.
- Special Houses: The two island kin houses are very sought after, as are 1 and 7 Bay Road.
- Country environment. Hobbit style homes. Conventional room layout, but hobbit doorways.
- Special Houses: 2 Glenmouth Path and Stonegate Path have mobile yard slots allowing architectural marvels to be created. Very sought after.
Mobile yard slots allow you to to move items almost anywhere, including vertical adjustment. They allow the creation of archtectural wonders. See Stonegate Path, Esgorwyn in Lyndelby for an example.
- Newest homestead. Very convenient for travel to Rivendell. The standard houses have the best views/location, but deluxe ones have a much better interiors. Fairly conventional layouts. All yards slots are mobile yard slots, but seem more restricted than the ones in Lyndelby.
- Special Houses: none stand out, but 2 Torrent-path was being snapped very quickly.
- Rohirric grasslands, Medium popularity, Basement has a conventional layout, but upper areas are like lofts.
- Special houses: The mead hall doesn’t require a kinship to purchase. Number 8 Colt Road has a cave, Both of these are highly sought after.
- Mountain forest. Not very popular. Basement has a conventional layout, but upper areas are like lofts. Only the two special houses receive much interest.
- Special houses: The mead hall (no kinship required) and 3 Peak Way (has a tower) are highly sought out.
- Dwarven halls - you either love or hate it. Navigating the neighbourhood is difficult with falls resulting in death. Only the two special houses receive ANY attention.
- Special Houses: 1 Ironfoot Road (the Geode House) is highly sought after. The kin house is the only house outside of Lydelby or Rivendell with mobile yard slots.
