¶ Home Decorations and Where to Find Them
Let’s get you started decorating that empty house by distilling down the overwhelming number of housing items!
New to home decorating? This guide will show you how to pick up housing items with nothing more than silver. No minimum level or rep with any faction needed. You could even do it with a level 1 character if it had the gold!
For LOTRO decorators, the D&Co du Milieu website is the go-to resource. They also have a Discord Server you can join if you’re really into housing.
The page I linked above lists every item you can easily buy with silver. The selection is enormous, so to make it easier, I’ll point out a handful of especially useful pieces from each furnisher. I’ve chosen items that fit comfortably into most beginner homes i.e. no giant yard items!
For more inspiration be sure to check out the Amazing Beginner Homes that we decorated using ONLY items that a level 1 character could obtain!

This is your second great source of housing items. Many rustic items are available here, ideal for a farmhouse or hobbit home.

- Picnic Table with Benches
- Market Storage (Produce) - nicely stocked shelves

- Field of Pipeweed
- Pipeweed Drying Rack (these two are great if you want to imagine them as some other kind of weed. 😄*)*
- Red Market Awning
- Head to the Broker’s Office in Bree, near the Town Hall
- Selefad (Eastfold) or Burgina (Kingstead) can sell you the items.
- AGOF members can alternatively visit “Kingsteadtravel” or “Eastfoldtravel”, but going to Bree is probably easier.
- Grey flagstone Floor
- Fieldstone Wall
- Well Stocked Pantry Shelves
- Empty Banquet Table / Empty Decorated Banquet Table
The banquet tables are huge and are meant to fit in a mead hall. However, you can get creative and bury half of it inside a wall for example. The Laden versions have food on them, but the food looks quite unappetising!
You’ll come here mainly for the decorative piles of treasure.

- To the west of where you land (past two gates), there is a door labelled “Passage to Crafting and Vendors”. The Housing Furnisher is inside.
- Travelled Treasure
- Warrior’s Wealth

This has mainly wall and floor surfaces, though there’s a couple of items that may be useful.

This housing furnisher mainly sells structural items and a few wall surfaces, none that I’d recommend for a beginner house.

- The Housing Furnisher is to the south-east, near the mailbox and Vault-Keeper
