This is a quick guide to explain the mechanics and skill interactions of the Guardians as of the Update 47. I have some minimal amount of testing and this guide might get futher updates and tweaks as I learnt more. Feel free to discuss, or suggest if I miss something important!
This is an example trait setup from my level 150+ red guardian. Feel free to use as a guide and tweak as you wish.

- If you want to do more AoE damage, drop a few points from Guardian’s Ward in Blue line, and invest more in Strong Bursts in Yellow line.
- You can also drop Protected by the Light from Yellow if you mostly play solo.
As a DPS class, red Guardian ues bleeds (DoT) and high-damage abilities to defat foes. So your job is to apply these two things just these two until your opponet is dead. Simple, no? Okay read on if you wanna know more
- Parry Response is an effect you gain, which allows you to cast other high damaging skills chains. You will want to be starting the fight with skills that allows you to trigger Parry Response or give you more chance of triggering it, i.e. + x% Parry chance.
- These skills below trigger or aid in triggering Parry Response.

This rotation comes in two phases, simply because we have two Parry Response openers.
- Charge to the enemy with Virtuous Charge if it is off cool-down. You will knock down the enemy which is pretty handy!
- Cast Guardian’s Ward. This gives you plenty of buffs for 30s and it’s on a pretty short cool down (3s), so use it whenever!
- Force Opening, why? Because it will give you Parry Response effect, that’s why.
- Whirling Retaliation use this instead of single target Retaliation because for a little more power you have AOE and slightly better range and DPS.
- Retaliation/Whirling Realiation now allows you to cast Thrust, which gives the enemy bleed (DoT) called Deep Wound. When Deep Would is active on enemy two other skills now apply bleed effects too, isn’t it nice?

- At this point, let’s apply an AoE skill that adds bleed too! Cast Sweeping Cut
Now this is the end of first phase of rotation, to recap here’s the skills in this round. Wait, it’s not done, don’t go take a break.

- Cast Brutal Assault. If Deep Wound active, (and it should be, unless you do Phase 1 rotation, go for a coffee break, come back to play Phase 2) it will also apply a bleed effect.
- Cast Overwhelm which gives a good chunk of DPS plus bleed effect, IF Deep Wound is on. So you gotta be fast!
- To the King can now be cast since we just did Overwhelm.
- To The King has 25% chance to trigger Blind Rage which lets you cast Reckless Attack which is a big BEAUTIFUL damage skill. Oh by the way, you have a 1 in 5 chance of triggering a Parry Response by Reckless Attack, so this is an all around good skill to cast!
- Now the finisher which is an even bigger damage skill is Hammer Down. Now this skill has cash out effects if your target has bleeds (DoTs) from below skills.

- On top of that, Hammer Down also triggers Ruptured Wound which gives a new bleed to enemy, Tiering up to 4 with each additional bleed that gets consumed. Pretty neat huh!
Okay time to recap, here’s the skills you use in this phase.

For AoE, Phase 1 rotation already includes a few AoE skills, but here are additional skills with long-ish cool downs you can weave in as they are off cooldown

If you need some heals, throw these skills in your rotation whichever one comes up: one requires a parry response, the other is on 2m cooldown.
